Hello beautiful people, I hope you’re all well.
I’m bringing back my ‘Current Beauty Favourites’ series, because it’s only been TWO BLOODY YEARS since I published my last one. A Beauty guru I am certainly not.
I love buying, using and, well, looking at makeup a lot, and there’s some bits recently I’ve been absolutely loving: most of them religiously. Let’s get into them!
Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation and Concealer
I picked up these two a month back and I’m already loving them. I should probably get out the way first that they are very heavy coverage and quite thick in consistency, so if you prefer a more natural foundation these probably won’t be for you!
Secondly – these only work well with a proper primer and setting spray, so take note of the products I’m going to mention below. They work really well together to make your skin look absolutely flawless (I’d go as far to say doll-like, do with that what you will) and give a gorgeous glow, too.
Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray
Trust me when I promise you that this is the best setting spray on the market. Forget the famous All Nighter, this is genuinely even better. It targets oil, so if you ever get oily around the crevices of your nose/chin/forehead on a night (or day) out with a full face of makeup, you can say goodbye to that issue with this product. The first few times I used it, I genuinely couldn’t believe how good it was – to be fair, I do use a ridiculous amount of it until my face is literally dripping, but it WORKS. It’s a lifesaver for festivals, clubbing and any occasion you want to stay in-tact and not look like a sweaty mess.
Eyelure Lengthening False Lashes No.116
It took me a fair few years playing around with false eyelashes to realise that sometimes, less is more – I’d always go for the most voluminous or fluttery lashes, but in the past year or so I decided to try the thinner styles and so forth came a revelation.
I’ve got small eyes, so these compliment my face so much more, rather than shrouding it. I also like my eyeshadow to be properly visible rather than hidden behind thick black (I didn’t spend 1 hour and 3 screaming fits for nothing) so these really are ideal. They look super minimal in the box, but once they’re on over a slick of mascara, I love them.
Collection Prime & Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser Primer
An absolute bargain at £4.99 I believe, there really is no reason not to scurry to your local Superdrug and sample this baby, is there? It does feel greasy on application, but it truly does lock in all your makeup like a pro and makes for a soft base.
Nia Wash & Glow Hydrating Cleansing Foam
I was kindly sent this by Nia a few months ago and have been loving it ever since. Firstly – the smell! It’s one of those lovely, clean, fresh scents that make you feel like you’ve just cleansed your soul in a bubble bath from heaven after using. After removing my makeup I usually use it to cleanse my face, and I sometimes use it in the mornings – it gives your skin that proper purified feel after a day of wearing a face full of makeup, and also gives a subtle glow.
Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette
This luxury palette really has the ‘wow factor’. Firstly, it smells like chocolate (clearly scent is high up in my priority list when judging my favourite beauty products) and secondly, it has the best pigment in a palette I’ve ever seen… even more than Morphe, and that’s really saying something. The glittery shades come off so blindingly and the palette has become a staple in my ‘night out’ makeup routine.
Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation
I received a voucher for Space NK for my birthday back in February and have only just got round to spending it! I love a new foundation I do, and I’d heard brilliant things about the new Nars formula. It sinks into the skin so effortlessly and is super buildable and blendable… basically, it’s what you’re looking for in a high-end foundation!
So, there we have it guys: 7 of my current beauty favourites that I’m absolutely loving right now.
Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think of them?
Love, Dayna x
