Hi everyone! I hope you’re all grand.
Today’s blog post is my first ‘haul’ style post; I had lots of bits and pieces I wanted to talk about, but I personally don’t like writing a blog post about 1 specific product. So, a haul it is!
I got some lovely beauty products for Christmas, so I’m going to show you in this blog post, in addition to some stuff I picked up myself. Let’s get stuck in!
I’m going to start with my favourite product!
My sister bought me the Tarte Make Believe In Yourself Palette. This is the first Tarte product I’ve ever tried, and I already love it more than I will my first-born.
This palette is full of shimmer shades, which I absolutely love. A girl can never have too many shimmers!

I’ve been having fun playing around with the blue/purple shades in this palette – I really wanted something with some more colour, as it can get boring sometimes using all the same gold/brown type shadows.
The highlighter in the middle is also gorgeous. Obviously it appears very white, which I usually really dislike, but on the skin it looks so lovely and subtle – it’s effect quite reminds me of the Mary Lou Manizer!
So yeah, a bit in love with this little palette, and I can’t wait to try more Tarte products in the future.
Whilst were on highlighters, let me show you 2 more I got recently!
This is the Revolution Strobe Highlighter in the shade ‘Gold Addict.’ This was bloody beautiful, until approximately 1 minute after taking the photo, when I knocked it onto the floor and it smashed into about 78 tiny pieces. Just ideal, really. Thank Jesus its a £3 bargain! God bless Revolution.
The other highlighter I got was the Gerard Cosmetics Star Powder in the shade ‘Brigitte’. My Nan got me this for Christmas (as she did with lots of the products in this post, so thank you, Nanna. I know you’re reading this!)
This highlighter is a gorgeous, pinky-toned illuminator – less is more with this one. You only need a little product for it to go a long way! I love this, it’s really, really pretty, has nice quality packaging and it makes my skin look fab, healthy and glowy.
Another thing I got from Gerard Cosmetics was one of their Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick’s in the shade 1995.
This is a lovely, wearable colour and the formula felt very rich and creamy. Although, I will say, this lipstick feels slightly drying (as do lots of matte liquids) so I’d recommend some lip balm underneath!
Up next is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I’m in the shade ‘Deauville.’
This is a pricier option at £32.50, and I never really buy it myself, but, oh my, I forgot how much I adore this foundation. It sits so well on my skin, pats in really easily, and I just simply love it.
Here we have something quite random – it’s the Skindinavia Post-Makeup Recovery Spray.
I saw some bits from Skindinavia on Beauty Bay and was keen to give some products ago, as to be honest, I’d never heard of them before.
This product claims to clear your pores and help prevent breakouts. I haven’t been using it long enough to comment on that, although I can say that it feels very refreshing to have a spritz of this after being a cake-face for the night, and it feels very hydrating and cooling. Noice.
Here we have a giftbox from one of my favourite brands, Lush.
Gifts from Lush are perfect – they’re always wrapped beautifully, they’re easy, and you can guarantee they’ll be sniffed out from a mile away. (Good or bad?)
My boyfriends lovely Mum got me this for Christmas! Inside the box was the Rose Jam Shower Gel, Golden Pear Soap and Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. They all smell gorgeous, and, well… it’s Lush, you just cant fault it really.
Lastly, I picked up these three babies.
Let’s start with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray. If you follow any beauty bloggers/vloggers, you’ll know every man and his dog are obsessed with this spray. I was kind of unsure what it actually was at first – a primer spray/skincare/setting spray? Turns out, all three.
I’ve been spraying this on my face before makeup, after, and throughout the day, and so far, I love it. It’s refreshing, great for dry skin and is full of good-for-you ingredients. Even though it’s not marketed as a setting spray as such, it has actually done a damn good job of keeping my makeup in place.
Secondly is the Soap & Glory Mother Pucker Extreme Plump Collagen Lip Shine. Well, after borrowing this from a friend once, I was hooked. I love this stuff – it genuinely does work, and makes your lips appear fuller; only criticism is that it doesn’t have great staying power, but its perfect for a quick selfie.
Lastly is one of my favourite products. It’s a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘Stockholm.’ I am so glad I picked up this colour – I already have about 5 of these lip creams: they’re so affordable and perfect for everyday wear. So far, this is my absolute favourite colour. It’s a really pretty, muted pink shade and it looks very flattering on the lips.
So, that’s pretty much it! Do you enjoy hauls? Would you like to see more of these? Let me know in the comments what you think!
Speak soon.
Love, Dayna x
