Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.
I fancied uploading a beauty-based post today, because I haven’t done that many on my blog and I really enjoy writing them!
I thought I’d do a ‘favourites’ roundup of what I have been loving and using recently. So, let’s get started.
Benefit They’re Real Mascara
If you’re into makeup, you’ll obviously know about this mascara. It’s been all the rage for quite a long time now, but I didn’t actually start using it until December, so I was pretty late jumping on that bandwagon. My one true love, the Maybelline Falsies Mascara has always been my go-to as it’s simply amazing; it genuinely lengthens your lashes so significantly and is super affordable, unlike this mascara which retails for £19.50, which for me, is a no-go. However, I got this in a special January sales gift box which came with lots of other products for a cheaper deal, and was excited to see what all the fuss was about.
Not gonna lie, when I first started using it, I wasn’t the biggest fan, as I found it could get quite clumpy! I left it alone for a while, but have been using it nearly every day for the past month or so and absolutely love it. If you’re wanting to splash out on a high-end mascara, I’d 100% recommend this for a full, dark, dramatic look.
The Balm Mary Loumanizer
Again, this is probably quite an expected one, as it’s a very popular product. Before I received this highlighter as a Christmas gift (hallelujah), I used to religiously use the Autograph Pure Luxe Powder, which is an absolute holy grail product, and if you have not got your hands on the golden beauty yet, you need to.
However, recently, I’ve been frequently using this highlighter instead. I absolutely love the striking glow it gives, and how easily it blends over my cheekbones and nose. When photographed in the packaging, it really does not look shiny or glittery, which is pretty off-putting and made me unsure whether I wanted to try it or not. But, I can assure you that once applied, it really does make your skin pop!
Revolution Baked Blush in ‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’
I’ve honestly never really worn blush, ever. This is weird because I have about 10 different ones in my drawer. I think it looks so pretty, but it generally just doesn’t suit me or my colouration and I’m not great at blending it with the rest of my makeup!
I got this one in my Revolution advent calendar and thought it looked gorgeous, but left it unused in my collection until about last week. I’ve started applying it more and more, and really love the pearly, pink, subtle glow this blush gives off! I’m definitely going to use blusher more frequently from now on.
No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in ‘Mulberry’
I’ve actually been a fan of this lipstick formula and shade for sooooo long – probably about 4 years (do not worry, this lipstick has been repurchased several times, though, and is not harbouring germs from when I was 15.) Recently, I have rekindled my love for it.
The formula of this lipstick is so moisturising (in case the name didn’t give it away) and feels so amazingly hydrating when you apply it, not like liquid lipsticks which tend to dry up really quickly!
The colour is also so pretty, perfect for Spring and goes really well with any makeup look, to be honest. I have used this lipstick again and again and never get tired of it! It’ll always be a staple in my makeup collection.
Combination of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Amsterdam’ and Barry M Lip Liner in ‘Chocolate’
These two products combined make such a flattering, dark red shade. When solo, I don’t massively like the colours – the Lip Cream is way too bright for me and the lip liner far too dark. But, when mixed, they are a dream.
I find the products can be quite drying, however, so I tend to apply some Vaseline on my lips beforehand to avoid cracking. Besides this, the products together are absolutely gorgeous and I totally prefer them over a general red lipstick.
So, that seems to round up my current makeup loves! I hope you enjoyed reading this post – let me know if you’ve also tried these products or if you have any other recommendations!
Love, Dayna x
